Jiucheng lubricants began serving to the Suzhou Thermal Engineering Research Institute in 2009.

The Suzhou Thermal Engineering Research Institute was transformed from the Suzhou Thermal Engineering Research Institute of the former national power company in July 2003. It is currently a two level member of China National Nuclear Power Group. The predecessor of the Suzhou Institute of thermal engineering was the Suzhou Nuclear Power Institute of the Ministry of water and electricity, which was founded in 1978. Its main task is to follow up, digest and absorb nuclear power technology to serve the construction and production of nuclear power.
